Hi, I’m Miyuki.
I was born and raised on the Chita Peninsula — a quiet stretch of coastline in Aichi, Japan, that most people outside the region have never heard of.
I know the color of the sea here in every season. I know the tiny back alleys where the afternoon light falls just right. I know which fishing port to visit at dawn, which lighthouse to watch the sunset from, and which local restaurants are actually worth the trip.
For a long time, I felt like no one was telling the real story of this place — not the tourist brochure version, but the living, breathing Chita that locals actually know and love. That’s why I started Chita Wander.
Background
Born and raised in Chita Peninsula, Aichi. After graduating high school locally, I moved to California to study Asian Studies at California State University, Long Beach. During my time there, I worked as a photographer and writer intern at a local magazine, and joined a student filmmaking team as an actor, camera operator, and editor.
Back in Japan, I worked at an IT startup before joining a travel advertising agency, where I produced inbound tourism promotion events in Indonesia, Australia, the United States, and Europe — for clients including the Japan Tourism Agency and the Japan International Goodwill Association.
Today I work as a freelance web creator, photographer, licensed tour guide, and local tourism producer based in Aichi.
